Tanners Look to Dance Round Town

With bragging rights up for grabs Saturdays East Riding Senior Cup match between Hodgsons FC and promises to be a match played with intent by both sides from the start.

, Chairman of Hodgsons FC talked ahead of the game on how he feels the match will pan out and the players to watch out for.

“I think it will be a fairly evenly balanced match. I think most people will naturally install Beverley Town as favourites, being an established Humber Premier Team.”

“However, my current Hodgsons team are more than capable of competing; I think there maybe only a goal in it. We have a winning mentality installed within the squad and a never say die attitude.”

“The key battle on the pitch will be in the centre of midfield were I’ll be hoping Danny Cartwright will run the show with his dancing feet, and former town player Dennis Edgar will look at halting Jonny Kershaw and Jonny Ricardo from dominating the centre of the park.”

“I’m hoping for a good clean match, and clearly a victory to send us through to the next round and of course bragging rights around the town!”

Daniel Williams, who has taken time out from the game had plenty to say about Saturdays’ fixture;

“Whatever I say I will upset someone, I have had the pleasure of working with players on both sides. The impetus is certainly with Hodgsons who continue to show no signs of letting up and now they have smartened up their leaky defence they are winning without conceding.”

“Make no mistake though; Beverley Town will probably accept that they are underdogs this time around and in a derby game the underdog bites biggest.”

“The key battle for me will see Adam Foster try to continue his very impressive goal scoring record against the experienced Jonny Ricardo who is strong in the air.”

“I expect Town go defensive with a 4-5-1 and frustrate Hodgsons, they have a great chance but they have to contain them and can’t afford to concede early on.”

“The weather could add to the drama with a wet surface making possession difficult and tackling tricky.”

“If I was a betting man I would put £2 on Adam Foster to score first with Hodgsons to win 3-1.”
