Beverley and Holderness MP, Graham Stuart, met staff and pupils at Riston C of E Primary School to congratulate them on reaching the finals of a national competition.
The school was named as a finalist at the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations (NCPTA) when it held its annual awards to celebrate and recognise the achievement of Parent Teacher Associations.
Riston C of E Primary School reached the final in the Changing the Life of the School category for its Music Club initiative.
Graham said: “It was great to go along and celebrate this achievement with the pupils and staff at the school.
“The link between any school and the parent teacher association is vital. This school has shown how important that can be, and while they did not win, getting to the finals was no mean achievement.”
Graham spent time talking to pupils and staff at the school even joining pupils in wishing one boy a happy fourth birthday.
