  1. Hodgsons made it 5 wins from 5 with a comfortable 2 nil victory over Brandesburton. The Tanners welcomed back leading scorer Adam Foster, but were without Gibson, Durham, Dexter, Piwinski and Rose. Regular club captain Paul Silvester made a return but he wasn’t quiet 100% fit.

The home side came out of the blocks quickly, and after just 2 minutes Foster was played through on goal by Steve Grantham, however Foster did what appeared to be the hard work by rounding the keeper but dragged his shot wide of the post.

Chances came and went for Hodgsons, but the deadlock wasn’t broken until 18 minutes. Midfielder Dennis Edgar the supplier for Foster with a superbly chipped ball through, Foster latched onto it and finished clinically.

Brandesburton tried attacking down the Hodgsons right hand side but fullback Thorne was strong and played the ball out well. Centre backs Karl Wallis and Ben Daniels were never forced into any trouble and continued to snuff out any Brandesburton attacks.

Hodgsons were looking dangerous down the left hand side with full back Chris Robinson linking very well with Steve Grantham, however no further goals were scored.

The second half saw Hodgsons push on for further goals but the only goal of the second half came from Foster courtesy of Thornes headed through ball. With 30 minutes still on the clock, Hodgsons couldn’t add to their tally, but created opportunities. Winger Danny Atkinson struck the bar with a fierce drive with the ball clearly crossing the line, but referee Graham Wilkin had a slightly different viewpoint judging the ball hadn’t crossed the line.

Danny Cartwright struck a shot into the side netting, shortly after picking up a booking.

On 74 minutes a welcome sight was the return of Silvester. He replaced Stott for the final 15 minutes of the game.

In the dying minutes of the match coach Blenkinsop replaced 2 goal Foster.

Manager Hastings was pleased with the result, and also with Keeper Sewell for keeping a 2nd clean sheet on the bounce. “I’m hoping a couple of lads will return for the next match when we play Howden at home. I’ve never had so many players missing at anyone time. Its just aswell we have a large squad, as its paying dividends now.”
