Pupils @ Longcroft Get Their GCSE Results

There were huge smiles all round at Longroft School in Beverley when the students got their GCSE results.

Among the top performers was Eva Lawrence and Lottie Dodd, both of 11T, who got straight runs of As and A*s.

Longcroft School saw 54.3 per cent of pupils achieving five A*-C including English and Maths, up 10.5 per cent on last year.

head of improvement and learning at East Riding of Yorkshire Council said: “We are tremendously proud that year after year young people continue to achieve even better GCSE or “level 2” results in East Riding secondary schools in a wide range of qualifications.  The results  are underpinned by many individual stories of hard work and application as well as committed teaching and support.

  1. EAST RIDING GCSE RESULTS – UPDATE

    All the results are now in from the East Riding and East Riding pupils have achieved their best ever results, with 78 per cent of pupils getting five A* to C grades.

    Fifty- nine per cent of pupils across the East Riding reached the ‘gold standard’ of five A* to C grades, including English and maths.

    Mike Furbank, head of improvement and learning, said: “We were waiting for a few schools to come back to us with their final results but these are all in now and we’re delighted with these results.

    “They are the best results we have ever had and the pupils, staff and pupils’ families should be applauded.”
