End of an Era as Michael Brown Retires

Lockings Sol

Quality Solicitors Lockings are today announcing the retirement of Michael Brown, 59 from their office with effect from 31 August 2010.

Mr Brown was born and has worked in Beverley all of his life, the last twenty years have been with Lockings.  His career as a Property Lawyer began in 1970 when his first duties included following his first boss, Noel Till, then senior Beverley solicitor around to court and meetings, carrying his briefcase and making sure he didn’t leave his bowler hat behind.

says:

“Noel Till was an inspiration to me, I was fortunate to start my working career with him learning from his professionalism, experience and attitude to work.  He gave me the best piece of advice – don’t worry about anything until it actually happens!”

“During my career I have enjoyed being involved in many of the major commercial and housing projects in the local area where I have acted on behalf of builders, developers, home buyers, tenants and also the sale and transfer of many local businesses.”

“I feel Beverley has developed at a gradual rate over the last 20 years within acceptable limits, and of course, has kept me busy in the property world.  However, with no disrespect to the current Council, I feel that the town rather lost its unique historical identity when the old Beverley Borough Council was abolished.”

“Lockings has offices in Hull and Beverley and as always the team is committed to providing high quality customer friendly .  We have worked hard to ensure that our clients receive the highest possible level of service and value for money.   The legal profession is undergoing an image overhaul and I am certain that under the new national brand of Quality Solicitors, Lockings will be at the forefront, embracing the changes and providing a transparent service to ensure clients’ interests come first.”

Partner, Andrew Cooney will be taking the Beverley office forward.  He comments:

“Mike Brown is very well known and much respected for his experience and knowledge of the commercial and residential property markets.  Our team has been privileged to work with him and we all hope this retirement is long, healthy and happy.  I know he looks forward to spending more time with his family including new grandson.”
