Beverley Town CC 3rd XI managed to get a losing draw against Sutton-on-Hull at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
The 4th XI took eight points from a drawn game with Sutton at Norwood. Beverley’s bowlers did not have their best day apart from Tim Fordon who took 1 for 30 in ten overs on his 4th XI debut. Sutton made the most of their opportunities and registered 217 for 4 from a reduced allocation of 40 overs. Other wickets came from Jamie Nowell, who bowled a very good opening spell, Jamie Roe and Sam Welburn.
Neil Goforth (35) and James Broekhuizen (22) gave Town a steady start and at the half-way stage they were 66 for 1. Tim Fordon (48 no) and Ray Teal (47) took Beverley to the three-quarter runs target at 163 for 4, before Rob Fish came in to hit a four and a six to secure another batting point at 176 for 4.
