Beverley Town CC 4th IX Vs Hull Ionians 2nd XI

Neil Goforth produced a superb all-round performance as Beverley Town CC 4th XI romped to a an eight-wicket victory over HICE seconds at the Norwood Recreation Ground on Saturday.

He picked up 3-42 then hit an excellent 71 as they overhauled their target with ease.

But he wasn’t the only home player to shine on a glorious day.

Sam Welburn picked up 4-59 off 12 overs and Guy Brumfield 3-41 off 9.4 as the vistors were restricted to 182 all-out.

Goforth and Rob Wicks laid the platform for the run chase, putting on 132 for the first wicket before Goforth perished.

Wicks, unbeaten on 71, and James Broekhuizen, who scored 21 no, saw their side home to 185 and a fine win.
