Beverley won the toss and elected to field and when Hannah Matthews got two wickets with her first two balls the pressure mounted on York. Sophie Boynton also bowled well taking 1 for 8 from her four overs and then Abbie Warner took 1 for two from her 4 overs.
Hannah McCoid’s quick throw left the York skipper miles out of her crease and only one batsman got into double figures.
In reply Beverley gave the new recruit Emily Preston a go up the order and she hit a four before being out to a smart catch. Beth Smith topped the Beverley scoring making 30 not out.
