Beverley RUFC commence their pre-season training at on 1st July at 6.45 p.m. Training nights will continue thereafter on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.45 p.m. All players of whatever standard are encouraged to attend these sessions which, apart from the obvious fitness and skill benefits, are always fun.

On Saturday 3 July the club is holding an open day. The day will commence at 3 p.m. with a round robin touch session at which all are welcome to join in. The touich rugby will be followed at about 5 p.m with a Bar-b-Que and a few beers.

Two pre season matches have been arranged so far. On 21st August the Beavers will take on Hull Ionians at Brantingham Park and on 28th August they will play Driffield at Beaver Park.

As has been reported elsewhere. Young back row forward (Bling) received a very serious injury at the end of last season and he will be out of the game for at least a year. Furthermore he will be unable to work and the club will be holding several events and functions during the year at which it is hoped to raise some cash to help him out through this difficult period.

The first of these is a Quiz night at the Clubhouse at Beaver Park. Start is 8.30 and entry is £2 per team of up to 6 members, including a light supper. A raffle will be held with all proceeds going to the Bling Aid fund.

The second event is a “Clash of the Codes” tournament on Sunday 29 August at 12.30 p.m.to 8.30 p.m. It will be remembered that Craig was injured helping out Beverley Rugby League club and the clubs from the two codes are coming together to try and raise a substantial sum for him. The tournament will involve teams of ten from as many local clubs (both codes) as possible playing a hybrid form of touch rugby.

Entry is £20 per team. Please see Beverley RUFC website for details of rules and how to enter.
