Roadshows on Electricals

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is holding a series of roadshows to focus on the of small electrical items.

Councillor , portfolio holder for the , said:

“We are concentrating on smaller electrical and electronic equipment, like toasters and toothbrushes, because it is the fastest growing waste stream.

“The aim of the roadshows is to demonstrate how old, broken electrical items can be recycled while those in good condition could be reused. It is about reducing the waste sent to landfill.”

The roadshows mark the annual Recycle Week starting on 21 June, organised by WRAP as part of the Recycle Now campaign. The aim is to encourage people to recycle more things more often.

The roadshow will be in Beverley on the 23rd June between 9 – 12
