Beverley Lions Golf Day Raises £3650

The Beverley Lions Club held their 12th Annual Charity Day at the Driffield Golf Club on Friday 28th May when 34 teams contested for almost £2000 worth of prizes.  The competition was very keen with the winning team, Leicestershire’s Finest, scoring 84 points. The prizes were presented by Phil Jordan, Captain Driffield Golf Club together with the President of the Beverley Lions Club, Ian Sagar who thanked everyone who had contributed to make the golf day such a tremendous success.

The Beverley Lions are very grateful to all of the numerous sponsors and prize givers  and in particular to Hodgsons Sealants for their continued support as the main sponsors and also Company, Hull City AFC, Guest and Philips, Roberts and Speight and The Insurance Partnership for the special prizes and to   for their help with the grand raffle and to everyone who also helped to make the day such a tremendous success.

The event raised a total £3650 of which a cheque for £2500 was presented to Dr Alec Ming, Consultant Neurologist at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals for help towards the care of people who suffer from Epilepsy.  The balance will be go into the Lions Charity Account and used for deserving causes in Beverley and district.
