Humber Colts Crowned Division 5 Wyke Champions

The Humber Colts were confirmed Division 5 Wyke champions in their first season. The Colts were all set to play their final match of the season when they received a call less then an hour before kick off advising them Outdoor Living could not filed a side.

The Humber Colts were awarded the points and with them came confirmation of the title. Manager Tony Henderson said;

“We are pleased to have won the league though it is disappointing not to win it on the pitch. We have been looking forward to this game all week and were confident we could win in style.”

Chairman Rob Hunter added;

“True we did not get to play today though throughout the season we have played well, this fixture may have been cancelled though it does not take the shine off what is a fantastic debut season for the club and I would like to thank and congratulate all those involved.”

The Humber Colts without a game to play spent the morning in their base, the Humber Keel where Hunter shocked all the players by buying them a pint. The Colts can now focus on their presentation evening and look forward to promotion to the Division 4 Wyke Sunday League.
