Final Event a Family Affair

The fourth and final event in the East Yorkshire Short Race Series took place on Saturday (April 10) in glorious sunshine at Londesborough Park, Market Weighton.

Organised by Humberside and Lincolnshire Orienteers (), the event consisted of two races of three kilometres with a handicapped start calculated for the second race.

The warm weather and steep wooded slopes tested the competitor’s strength and stamina.  But every competitor (bar one) completed the second course in a faster time than the first, a testament to their fitness.  The Londesborough woodlands are at their best at this time of year, offering fast uninterrupted runs through the trees.

There was tight competition throughout and many of the class winners were not decided until the final race.
