Lincoln Cathedral Diana Certificate of Excellence

2 Volunteers from ’s Vinvolved Team attended the Diana Princess of Wales Award Ceremony in Lincoln Cathedral Chapter House last Friday. They were there to collect a much-deserved Certificate of Excellence on behalf of the project’s .

The Mayor of Lincoln, The Right Worshipful, Councillor David Gatrick, presented Kayleigh Cooper and Jamie Baker with the award and thanked them for their efforts in the community.

The event took place in the presence of The High Sheriff of Lincolnshire, The Lady Sarah McCorquodale, sister to the late Princess who spoke warmly about the sterling work that is being done by young people all over the region.

St George’s College of School and Westborough High School Samba Band provided the entertainment.

Afterwards, Maggie Turner, Chief Executive of the Diana Award, who is already known to the project, personally thanked Sue Dudill, Youth Volunteer Adviser for nominating the Team and congratulated the volunteers for such outstanding work. Sue said, ‘We feel very honoured that our project was chosen to receive such an accolade and we look forward to continued success in 2010.’
