Beverley’s ‘Beverley & District Chamber of Trade’ met at the Beverley Arms Hotel yesterday where special guest speaker Duncan Lewis of Business Link gave an informative and thought provoking talk entitled ‘How to Have the Edge over Your Competitor’.
Duncan conducts several short exercises that encouraged those at the meeting to look more closely at the things they were good and what they do well. Duncan also gave advice to a captive audience about pricing strategies, the importance of retention as well as touching briefly on marketing messages.
Ben Gardiner said after the talk; “Having listened to Duncan’s talk the one thing I will take away from this is to refer to my business plan more often.”
Beverley & District Chamber of Trade is actively trying to encourage more local business’s to attend meetings so they can tackle issues within the local economy and like many groups working to improve Beverley parking is a hot topic.
Business’s who attended included Inspiration, Glenholme Florists, Streamers of Beverley, Scotts Commercial Property, G Jack & Sons and Cultural Bodywork. It is staggering fact but Glenholme Florists and G Jack & Sons have, when combined been trading in Beverley for over 100 years.
