Lissa Richardson, landlady at the Coltman Avenue pub, The Humber Keel, beat the North East’s best pool players to move just one step away from an England spot.
Playing for East Yorkshire, Lissa finished third in her region to reach the final England trials at Great Yarmouth in March.
A major factor in Lissa’s rise is the title-winning form of the Humber Keel’s pool teams.
The Humber Keel are the current Thursday League, Cup holders and Monday League champions, and are set for a superb triple if they can claim the Tuesday League crown.
