Beverley & District Talking Newspaper

Beverley & District Talking Newspaper (BDTN) is a service for people who, because of sight loss, stroke, infirmity or similar cause, cannot read for themselves.

It’s run by volunteers, who compile weekly recordings containing

•    the latest news appearing in The and The

•    plus BDTN’s own entertaining and informative audio magazine, Whatever Next.

Specially recorded interviews with local personalities are included too, along with occasional advice and information on living with sight loss.  In total, each week’s edition is about 70 minutes long.

The discs are standard audio CDs, posted to listeners every Tuesday.  Normal paper envelopes are used and the discs are non-returnable, so there’s nothing to send back.
FREE SERVICE

BDTN is free to anyone who is registered as blind or partially sighted or who, even if not registered, is unable to read N12 size print.

SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE

Anyone not eligible for the free service can receive BDTN every week for only £25 a year.

TO REQUEST THE SERVICE …

Simply telephone 01430 828867. If you’d like to hear a sample disc before deciding just telephone.

DO YOU KNOW …

anyone who might enjoy listening to BDTN each week?  A parent or other relative perhaps, a friend or neighbour?  If so, please tell them about BDTN now.
