Election of a Town Councillor to Beverley

An election is to be held for one councillor for Council (Minster South Ward).

Nomination papers can be obtained from ’s electoral services, County Hall, Beverley, 9BA, by calling (01482) 393311/12/13.

Alternatively papers can be obtained from the Beverley Town clerk at 12 Well Lane, Beverley, HU17 9BL or by calling (01482) 874096 (Monday to Wednesday).

All nomination papers must be returned to electoral services by 12noon on Friday, 8 January 2010.

If the election is contested, a poll will be held on Thursday, 4 February 2010.

Absent vote applications/amendments and any late registrations must be within the electoral services office by 5pm on Wednesday, 20 January 2010.

During the christmas holiday period nominations/applications may be obtained from East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s website- www.eastriding.gov.uk

Tickton Parish Council has a vacancy for a councillor.

A by-election to fill the vacancy will be held if 10 electors of the parish write to the chief executive of East Riding of Yorkshire Council at County Hall, Beverley, East Yorkshire, HU17 9BA, by 4 January 2010 claiming an election.

If the chief executive does not receive such a request, the parish council will be informed that it may fill vacancies by co-option, which means that the council members will elect a new member from those who have expressed an interest in joining the council.
