The John Lock Memorial Day took place at the playing fileds and Hodgsons pub in Beverley. Events began with the much awaited contest a fitting tribute to John who played for each of the sides who were contesting the cup that bared his name.

The sides lined up though there was not a number 9 in any of the teams a fitting tribute by the local clubs of man who had played for each of them. The sides were led to their pitches by John’s children, before the matches kicked off a minutes silence was observed then the children got the games under way kicking the matches.

took on in one semi final while on the other pitch with Tickton/Grove Hill facing the Lord Nelson. Hodgsons FC came through their game as did Lord Nelson to set up a thrilling final.

It was Hodgsons FC who came out winners ironically beating a Lord Nelson side that included Hodgsons FC’s very own Lee Hastings and Beverley Town’s Craig Barley, Hodgsons FC proved too strong winning three one and claiming the John Lock Memorial Trophy.

At the presentation Dave Chillott thanked all the sides for taking part, some players had pulled on boots for the first time in years to help make this a day possible and to remember while raising money for a good cause.
