Beverley RUFC Travel to Penrith

embarks upon their longest journey of the season on Saturday when they visit Penrith for their National League 3 fixture.

Although beaten 6-9 by league leaders Morley last Saturday they continued their recent improved form. In the end the Beavers were very unlucky not to win the game but, unfortunately their unbelievable run of injury problems struck again just after half time when was the victim of a late tackle in which he fractured his arm in 4 places, putting him out for at least two months, if not for the remainder of the season.

This is the fourth broken arm suffered by the Beavers’ players this season and when one adds the broken ankle suffered by winger three weeks ago, one wonders if the jinx will ever end.

Despite the injury problems coach, Barrie Pearce remains confident that the Beavers are close to returning to winning ways. “Our last two matches have been against the first and second place teams in the league and I think that we were very unlucky to lose both. Small errors cost us and we are working hard, with some success to eliminate them. Saturday will be another hard game but I am sure we will give a good account of ourselves and hopefully come away with a win.” He said this week.

Beverley are undecided as yet whether or will take over Ian Archibald’s role and have named a 20 man squad, from which the final 18 will be selected on Friday.
