Parking Ticket Refund Awarded

Mrs Fewster of Beverley

Mrs Fewster, a resident received good news this week after a parking fine of £40 was refunded. Mrs Fewster had popped into the Tesco store in Beverley to do some shopping only to return to find a parking ticket on her car for parking in a disabled bay.

She tried to resolve the issue on the day showing the parking attendant her blue badge though he refused to cancel the ticket and explain she would need to appeal put in an appeal with Central Ticketing who manage the car park. Mrs Fewster did however despite being able to prove she had a blue badge the company to her she still had to pay the £40 fine.

We met Mrs Fewster in our local post office and over heard her talking about how unfair she felt the fine was Mrs Fewster was upset as she genuinely forgot to display her blue badge. We offered to contact Tesco’s on behalf of Mrs Fewster to see if the matter could be resolved and so we did.

Tesco proved to be very helpful, they explained if this was a genuine mistake and Mrs Fewster had a blue badge disabled badge and was entitled to park in a disabled by they would get the ticket and parking fine cancelled. After a few phone calls and emails Mrs Fewster got the news she never thought she would get, her parking fine was over turned and she received a full refund.

Hear Mrs Fewster talk about her experience.
