Hengate Works Cause Traffic Mayhem

Beverley was brought to a grinding halt yesterday as the scheduled Hengate Roadworks began.  This was the first of – Sunday’s that Hengate would be closed off to traffic as the work on removing about eight inches of the original carriageway and replacing damaged ironwork.

The council will also be resurfacing approximately half of the junction on New Walkergate/Manor Road at the end of Hengate during this period meaning more misery for motorists in Beverley.

The heavy plant is loaded back onto the wagons at 9 oclock so Hengate can be reopened
