Beverley 2nd XV Vs Pocklington

With many regulars returning to the side and coach Andy Franklin running things from the side lines things are beginning to look up for Beverley. The game didn’t get off to a great start with Alistair James going off injured in a record time of 12 seconds but with the addition of Shaun Barker and to the pack and Mike killgannon and Jerry Barnes to the backs Beverley were dominant from the off.

In the first half Beverley took an early lead from an try after a fantastic run and pass from Rich Cowley, Gill missed the kick. Minutes later R.Cowley  was at it again breaking through the line to release J.Barnes for a great try, and then powered through the line himself to add a third Beverley try, gill converted. Just before half time a great run and try by full back Alex Nightengale put Beverley 26 points up at half time.

The second half started pretty much the same for the first 5 minutes with Beverleys man of the match seventeen year old Ash Jenko going over for bevs 5th try only for it to be ruled out for, well no one knows why. Then a group of unforced errors and individual mistakes let Pocklington back in to the game with two late trys. Beverley entertain Malton next week and with a strong squad and more regulars returning this is shaping up to be a good season for Beverley.
