MP ‘delighted’ Beverley will get its new hospital
MP for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart, today said he was delighted with news a new hospital has been granted planning permission.
Graham said: “This has been a long hard battle and many people have worked very hard towards this day.
“It is such good news, not just for Beverley, but for residents across the whole of Holderness who will have access to the best possible hospital facilities.”
And he added: “Thanks should go to the Primary Care Trust which has pushed for this hospital despite some fears about where it was to be sited. I am glad these have been addressed and that now the PCT can move forward with building the hospital.
“Just five years ago we feared we would lose all the hospital beds in Beverley and Holderness. To go from that situation to the granting of planning permission for this new £17 million hospital is wonderful news.
“I look forward to continuing to work with the PCT as it starts its next round of public consultation.”
